Underwater Clean Up Dives


Results of our September 15, 2001 Monterey Clean Up Dive:
How much was brought up:
The Harbor Master has provided us
with the weight of the trash we brought up from the ocean floor. The trash was
weighed in at the dumps as follows:
Wharf II dumpster = 2.02 tons
Beach Dumpster = .78 tons
Total = 2.8 tons = 5,600 pounds of trash
Great Job!!!

75 Divers participated in the dive.
29 People participated as shore help.

There was also a group of kids on Wharf II that had a great time helping us remove marine life from the trash that was brought up from the ocean floor. We don't know who they were... but thank you.

crane, ferried divers in boats, picked up trash in boats, transported the trash
from the wharf and beach to the dumps, set up our audio equipment, provided sign
in tables and rinse down hose, and more.
